The Honey Bird
Killuke Nursery offers the Honey Bird series with top-quality Grevilleas plant variety. Plants in this series include the Parakeet Pink, the Silvereye Cream, and the Wattlebird Yellow.
The Parakeet Pink is lovely, compact shrubby. It has soft pink and large flowers. Its growth habit is one of the most outstanding features of this particular Grevillea. It is a haven for plants and makes a good bird feature plant in the garden. It can also be used for the supply of short-lived cut flowers to be used in the house.
It has its main flush of flowers in the late winter and the early spring. You should give it a trim after that period and feed it with low native fertiliser low in phosphorus in the spring and summer. Water it well afterwards. It grows to a height of between 1 and 1.5 metres and a width of between 1 and 1.5 metres. It has pink-coloured flowers.
Silvereye Cream is a small shrub that grows to about a height of 1 metre. It is a great plant for attracting birds to your garden. It flowers all through the year. The flowers are lemon and cream-coloured. It also makes for wonderful cut flowers. Silvereye thrives in sunny areas and positions and well-drained soil. In the spring, add some amount of native fertilisers.
It is good for low informal hedges, in containers, and as stand-alone plants. Silvereye cream is naturally compact and low maintenance. It grows to a height of between 0.8 and 1 metre and a width of between 0.5 to 1 metre. It has Cream and Yellow-coloured flowers.
Wattlebird Yellow is a pretty compact grevillea. It has big and bright yellow flowers. It produces flowers all through the year. Its flowers are bird magnets. It usually grows to a height of about 1 metre.
Wattlebird Yellow plants have been bred to thrive in subtropical climates. Wattlebird only tolerates light frost. It grows best in sunny areas and position in well-drained soil. In the spring, feed it some small amount of native fertiliser.
It is low maintenance. It can be used for informal hedging as a feature plant and pot culture. It grows to a height of between 0.7 and 1 metre and a width of between 0.5 and 1 metre.
